How TROVA Home is Making the Everyday More Secure

Could be that when you think of a safe your mind might wander to a bank robbery—in which case we have other questions we might want to ask you at a later date. But
TROVA isn’t just a safe, it’s very much a lifestyle solution. They’re on a mission to keep your everyday possessions safe and accessible all at once. The versatility of which extends all the way from the practical to the sentimental. In correlation with The Music Issue of Whalebone Magazine, we asked sister act SistaStrings to give TROVA a try and to see how it keeps tune with their day-to-day. Over to Monique and Chauntee Ross.

If you could put a song or a memory in the safe, what would it be?

If I could put a memory in my TROVA safe, it would be my dad carrying me to bed, tucking me in and saying prayers with me every night. I was such a huge daddy’s girl growing up, and I remember being so sad when I had gotten too old for him to carry me to bed. Now that I’m an adult and I see my parents getting older, I cherish these memories so much more and want to keep them locked and saved away for me to always be able to return.

How can you see TROVA added to your everyday life?

I have already found so much value in the daily use of my safe. I have my “everyday” jewelry that I wear, but in the past when I place it down on my nightstand or a side table it is moved by my partner or my 11-year-old child. Now when I take it off, I place it in the safe and I know exactly where it is the next day. The same can be said for my songwriting notebook and journal. These thoughts are personal and these songs are personal until they are ready to be heard, so I like knowing that they are safely kept away for my eyes only.

Walk us through what you chose to keep in your safe and why?

  • Nose ring: Can’t say how much it helps knowing exactly where my things are.
  • Songwriting book and journal: It’s personal! For my eyes only.
  • Passport: Ever had the panic before a trip wondering where your passport is?! Yeah, me neither! *looks around* Now I will ensure that my and my daughter’s passports are safely tucked away in my TROVA safe until needed. Wildly helpful!
  • Nintendo Switch Lite: I know this might seem goofy, but I’m serious about my Zelda game! I want to ensure the safety of my progress when I am away.
  • Topical CBD/THC cream for pain: My partner realized that it totally works for pain and began to use it for himself! That is fine and dandy—once I get more, I will ensure I have enough for sharing, but until then IT IS LOCKED AWAY!

f you could put a song or a memory in the safe, what would it be?

It’s an easy choice for me to pick which song I’d put in my safe if I could—the newest song my band SistaStrings just finished writing and arranging with one of our best friends. Soon it will be time to release the song and give it away to whoever has ears to hear it. But until then it’s living in a space where it’s super personal and I want to keep it safe before it reaches its next stage and becomes all of ours.

How can you see TROVA added to your everyday life?

As a touring musician, I’m often sharing space with a number of people. TROVA safe has allowed a bit of privacy in my everyday life on the tour bus which offers peace of mind and less stress. A win!

My safe holds one of my most valued possessions—my songbook. My journal and my songbook have morphed into one book that I turn to for processing, remembering and just a general release. It also holds something as silly as an extra lighter because I am always looking for one to light a candle or some incense. I was practical and put some cash in there as well. My mother raised me to always have some money tucked away.
